A museum of style
When Lakeside Amusement Park opened in 1908, I imagine that it was entirely styled as a pleasure garden, with elements incorporated from the Chicago Exposition and the White City amusement park that followed it. (As a matter of fact Lakeside Amusement Park is that last remaining park of those that opened under the White City name.)
The men's room sign adds a certain je ne sais quoi, doesn't it?
I imagine the Gibson-gowned ladies strolling, many with gents, and the hopeful mashers, all listening with half an ear to the band.
